Sneakerhead Ceramics + Beer? Say less.
LA Ale Works is excited to bring ceramic artist London James (@porcelainsneakerhead) to our Hawthorne Brewery & Tasting Room to host a custom ceramic mini-planter workshop.
Participants will receive:
- A terracotta ceramic sneaker (in the shape of baby AF1) that is hand-made and slip-casted by London in her LA-based studio.
- All materials + instruction for color customization of their sneaker planter.
- A small succulent plant to take home in your new custom planter!
*Spots are limited and when workshop is sold out, spaces cannot be added due to the custom, hand-made nature of the product.*
About Ms. James:
London James (b. 1991), is a ceramic artist originally from Chicago, Illinois, with roots in Southern California. Her love for ceramics began in 2011 during her undergraduate studies at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). In 2017, she launched PorcelainSneakerhead (PSH), a homage to sneaker culture, diving into the intricate world of clay, mold-making, & slip-casting. The PSH brand merges fashion, sports culture & clay by reimagining contemporary forms as ceramic planters, trophies, sculptures, & more. London has carved out a distinctive niche for herself using clay to celebrate culture through the archival of sneaker legacies.
